Not a ‘Blue Monday’ for Billy Boi

Billy Boi Blue wins over hurdles for the first time…

Monday the 15th of January was apparently Blue Monday, ‘Blue Monday’ typically refers to the third Monday in January and is often considered the most depressing day of the year. It certainly wasn’t for Billy Boi Blue and his BDR Racing owners…

Billy Boi Blue won the maiden hurdle at Hereford, his first win over hurdles on his third attempt.

The Blue Bresil gelding has always been held in high regard here and won a bumper on boxing day last year. He is from a great family of jumpers , his dam ‘Kentucky Sky’ has produced Martello Sky, Brief Ambition and Mystic Sky to name a few!

BDR Syndicates are brilliantly run by Stewart Dudwell and Colin Burr, they have been big supporters of the yard and we love training winners for them. They have enjoyed a good time of things with Bitsnbuckles winning at Huntingdon only three days before for Olly Murphy.

Johnny Burke gave Billy a confident ride and rode him like a good horse. Again another horse that we like a lot and look forward to seeing his career develop. He should make into a lovely chasing prospect one day, but certainly has unfinished business over hurdles.
