Eagles Realm, Hat-trick Hero

Eagles Realm brings up the hat-trick…

To say that Eagles Realm has been in good form would be an understatement and last night he did something that not many racehorses end up achieving, winning three races in a row!

Eagles Realm has been at Martins Hill for a couple of years and is quickly becoming quite a stable star. He is ultra consistent and takes his races well, making him the perfect horse to own, especially for a group of owners. Well, he has just that for his owners and our yard sponsor The Good Racing Co. We’re so glad to be able to provide them with plenty of days and evenings in the winners enclosure.

Lets look back at Eagles Realm and his journey so far… He actually started out at Cheveley Park Stud and is regally bred (no pun intended). By sire Free Eagle out of useful race mare Regal Realm (rated 102 on the flat). This makes him a half brother to the 120 rated flat horse, Regal Reality!

So from a good family indeed, he started his racing life with Sir Mark Prescott and was probably bred with the aim of running in classics. Not reaching that level, he was sent to the sales. A former member of our team, Tom Humphries, recommended him to us as a horse that might potentially be a fun juvenile hurdler.

We gave him a bit of time, before running him in a few hurdle races. During the 2022/23 season he won two on the bounce over hurdles at Stratford and has been running consistently over obstacles throughout the summer, before switching back to the flat. He is ultra consistent, he’s placed in over half of his starts for us and has won 5 races.

His winning run started at Wolverhampton in October, winning well under Hollie Doyle, before his win at Newcastle after a cool ride by Brandon Wilkie and then winning at Southwell last night with wonder kid Billy Loughnane in the saddle.

He is looked after and adored by Phoebe, she has put a lot into this horse, we love her passion. Thanks to Phoebe and well done.
